Keeping Your Dog Safe in Hotel Rooms

When traveling with your dog, be sure to check the hotel room before you allow your dog to be free in the room. The previous occupant of the room may have been taking medications and may have dropped a pill or two that didn’t get picked up by housekeeping. So remember to look carefully (use a flashlight) around these areas:

  • floor underneath bathroom counters
  • floor/carpet around night stands (run your hands over the carpet if you’re not squeamish about doing it)
  • floor/carpet near any sink

It only takes a couple minutes to check these areas and it could save your dog’s life. One pill of human medication can kill or seriously damage your dog’s health.
